In the area of computer technology, the student will use a variety of technologies to improve classroom learning, increase productivity, and support creativity.

This track includes a unit which involves career exploration leading to student development and completeion of a research paper on a career of his/her choice. Standard: The student will develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted. This track will allow teachers to search different sites that pertain to this standard and additional links to sites for students to use in career research.

Having Fun With Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

This track is designed as a companion to the book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Students will use the links to better understand the details of the story and understand word meanings used throughout the story. Students will use the various sites to further explore constellations, contact the author, J.K. Rowling, take a candy quiz, and take a comprehension quiz. Specific standards addressed are as follows: Extend reading vocabulary utilizing sight words and context; Improve comprehension by interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating written text; Use comprehension strategies to ehance understanding, to make predictions, and to respond to literature; Utilize sources of information including technological tools.
