How can we afford this new invention, is it compatible with all the other inventions? How does this new creation affect our environment? It is your job to learn about the inventions of the past, and how they will affect our future.</span>  (Giving students different years to look at will broaden the scope of the project. Choose a starting time and give each student a different time period to look at - the track will have students choose 5 events in their time period.  They will then be asked to make a timeline of their 5 events.  Each student's time line will then be a piece of a class timeline.)

In this Track, students will explore various weather indicators and their influence on the actual weather forecast. Students will need to have a word document open along with this Track, as they will be keeping all of their responses in the word document. This Track is both exciting and challenging as it meets all of the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy; it also meets Arizona State Standards: 6SC-E8, 3SC-E1, 3SC-E2, and technology standards 1, 3, and 5.

Have you ever thought about what happens to your homework once your throw it away? Is it out of sight and out of mind? Depending on your practices, it could be in your notebook posing now as fresh recycled paper, or, it could be one of those unfortunate items stashed in our country's landfills. In this Track, students will learn about recycling, landfills, and what they can do to make a difference. They will meet state standards in reading, science, writing, technology, and communications. Using higher levels of thinking, prior knowledge, newfound information, and examples provided, students are asked to write a persuasive letter with supporting details urging their parents to help them to protect our environment and resources. (Students are asked to answer the questions using a worksheet - feel free to have them answer aloud or on a separate sheet of paper.)

Challenger Mission

After the explosion on January 28, 1986, of the Space Shuttle Challenger, families of the deceased were inspired to touch the future and make space exploration uninhibited. Challenger learning centers were then created and now exist to promote and encourage future space explorations. This track is designed to remind us of the 1986 tragedy and to introduce the Challenger Learning Center mission, Rendezvous with a Comet.

This Track is designed to help students integrate their technology skills as they learn about weather. Students will research various regions of the United States and learn about the weather that takes place there. Then they will create their own weather map, later comparing it to a real weather map. In the end, students will explore the variables that create our weather. Students should be quite proficient in technology.
