Sixth grade students lack the confidence and techniques to deliver appropriate oral presentations. This internet unit, a supplemental unit to "Tuck Everlasting", will permit students to practice a variety of speaking and writing exercises.
Students will research topics related to the novel. Students will then have the opportunity to write short descriptive paragraphs and deliver short oral presentations on information gathered.
This study should give students practice in oral and written communication and improve their internet skills. Students should feel more comfortable and confident in delivering oral presentations after completion of this unit.
This unit addressed the following Content Standards and Learning Expectations of the Tennessee Curriculum Frameworks:
1. LANGUAGE ARTS (Viewing and Representing: Grades 6-8) Content Standard: The student will use, read, and view media/technology and analyze content and concepts accurately.
