The fifth grade students at our school have been asked by NASA to prepare an Earth Lab inwhich the environments and conditions of the planet Earth can be studied and evaluated. We have been told that friendly aliens may be looking for a safe environment in which to begin a new colony. Our students have accepted the mission of researching the planet Earth to help the aliens find a suitable living environment. Our research will cover Landforms, Oceans, Weather and Space. We will produce a museum-like "Port of Enrty" in which the aliens will evaluate our study and select their new home on Earth. Additional websites will be added as our research developes.

<p>This site contains resources for the research of Famous Americans who contributed to the history of Virginia.  It reflects the SOLs for Virginia's 4th grade curriculum.  Students can search here to find information about the famous Virginian they have selected to research.  To find appropriate information students will need to select sites that suggest the correct historical time frame for their character.  They will need to use key words to refine their search.  They will take notes and use their own words to gather information.  Students will prepare a bibiliography of resources.  Each student must use and cite a minimun of one website as well as one library book and one additional text.  </p>
