This track is to be used with the unit Celebrating Cultures with Tomie dePaolo. This track will be used to introduce students to different cultures and then compare and contrast thes cultures to their own. Standard: Use comprehension strategies to enhance understanding, to relate ideas, toorganize information, to make predictions, and to distinguish fact from fantasy during the reading process.

Objectives: The students will use the tracks to explore different resources available that will allow them to do activiites related to the story. The studens will do wildflower illustrations, write poems, write a persaussive paragraph and research Newberry Book Award winners.
Content standard states: Improve comprehension by interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating written text.
