Directions:  For this activity students will be designing a PowerPoint presentation over the life of Gutenberg and the invention of the printing press. 

Step 1.  Students should find a partner.  Preferably, one of the group members should have some experience with computer use and the internet

Step 2.  Choose several links from the list given and read through the information, taking notes over the important details.  Remember, you will need to make a full and complete PowerPoint presentation so you will need lots of information.

Step 3.  Create PowerPoint using the guidelines below

Student Power Point presentations need to include all of the following:

  • Title page with names of all group members

  • Table of Contents page with each main point featuring at least 2 slides (minimum)

  • Brief biography on the life Gutenberg

  • Brief explanation of the time period (Renaissance)

  • Brief explanation of the long term effect on literacy and the church

  • Utilizing at least 3 graphics with captions

  • Conclusion page (i.e. “What did you learn”)
