 Track Description
This Track will address the stated learning gap to increase reading comprehension skills. This gap correlates with the Tennessee State Frameworks 6-8 English/Language Arts curriculum that states: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. My sixth grade students will be able to identify and elaborate on the different elements of fiction using Sarah, Plain and Tall. These definitions, skills, and relevance to human nature around them will greatly enhance comprehension, analysis, etc., in this novel and subsequent readings in an effort to increase the prerequisite skills necessary for adequate comprehension. The students will put story incidents "in sequence" and "relate learned facts to the real world (job)" as described in the pre-survey.
