Track Description
Our unit on the Wright Brothers begins by displaying an aeronatical timeline in our classroom hallway. The children are given a time period to research and they then produce a poster and model airplane for the display. We read about the Wright Brothers in our Open Court readers and have Civil Air Patrol cadets present lessons on flight. We watch The Magic Schoolbus video on flight and create a classroom comic strip to accompany it.The children access the following websites when we go to the Computer Lab. Our unit culminates with a visit to the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler, Ga. where a wonderful Education Director named Debbie presents an awesome program and tour geared especially for primary students.
