Track Description
Following a reading of The Overcoat by Nicolai Gogol, the class will complete several assignments that focus on the plight of Akakiy Akakievich, and that examine the following themes: man's isolation, the underdog in society, and bureaucratic corruption.
We will also consider how the elements of the fantastic are woven into this otherwise "realistic" story.
