The unit and lessons that I've chosen will aid in decreasing the learning gap (demonstrate using standard and non standard units, the attributes of length, capacity, weight, area, and volume) by using various manipulatives, hands on materials, and the Internet.
Also they will assist in giving the student an understanding of measurement. In addition, the lessons will give the students problems to which they can apply appropriate tools and units of measurement.
These units and lesson plans will also address questions from the survey such as students learning something as completely as they can, be willing to try tasks that may seem too difficult for them, and using the Internet to answer questions or practice skills.
