Assignment: The class will hold a mock African Union Conference in which each group represents a self-created Non-Governmental Organization. Each group is trying to obtain funding for its cause.

Examples of issues: AIDS/HIV; malaria; human rights; refugees; malnutrition; land mines; desertification; women’s rights; education; population; child soldiers; peacekeeping efforts

Each group will research one current issue, from past to present, and then create a non-governmental organization to help the people in need. Your research and newly found organization will be presented at the mock African Union conference.
