Oklahoma enjoys a wide diversity of plant and animal life. These ecological zones vary from the Ozark-Ouachita highlands in Eastern/Northeastern Oklahoma to the swamp bottomlands in the far Southeastern corner to the crosstimbers of Central Oklahoma to the tall, mixed and shortgrass prairies and grasslands scattered throughout this great state. With this diversity of ecoregions comes diverse wildlife.
