 Track Description
In the track, students will learn how to tell what time it is in Spanish and also to tell at what time something begins, ends, or is done. Students will make their own clocks and use them to practice making sentences, asking and answering questions about time with a partner. This unit addresses the learning gap that in past classes, students have shown a lack of ability to tell time in Spanish correctly and to make sentences telling that events or classes begin at a particular time. This unit also addresses curriculum standard 1.1: Students engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions. In addition, this lesson addresses the Tennessee Technology Literacy Grant Pre-Survey items: #13 Connecting what students learn in school to what they do outside of school, and #15 Thinking of ways that things they learn in school could be used in a job. The unit, "Que hora es? What time is it?" will help students because it helps them become able to engage in conversations in Spanish outside the classroom and to see what a broad opportunity this ability can provide to them.
