Track Description
This lesson will help students learn about several of the Food Webs of the Arctic.
This lesson has 4 components:
Students learn to read and prepare diagrams illustrating the food chains of the Arctic;
Students use graphs to determine levels of mercury (heavy metals) in animals of the Arctic over the past 25 years.
Student combine information from graphs and the food chain diagrams to try to figure out what organisms might be sources of mercury for the animals described in the graphs; and
Students use graphs and text to assess the potential impact of mercury pollution on people of the Arctic.
