 Track Description
This lesson will help students learn about several of the Food Webs of the Arctic. This lesson has 4 components:
  • Students learn to read and prepare diagrams illustrating the food chains of the Arctic;
  • Students use graphs to determine levels of mercury (heavy metals) in animals of the Arctic over the past 25 years.
  • Student combine information from graphs and the food chain diagrams to try to figure out what organisms might be sources of mercury for the animals described in the graphs; and
  • Students use graphs and text to assess the potential impact of mercury pollution on people of the Arctic.
