 Track Description
Before there was the traditional history recorded through writing, there was the Oral African Tradition. This was a way to generate information from person to person-- generation to generation- without writing it down. Of course, this was done through word and mouth and later recorded, so the memories of those entrusted with such information had to be great. Explore this track for more information about the Oral African Tradition as well as recorded Slave Narratives that were originally told through this tradition. By the end of this lesson you will be able to make the link between these two.
