This track contains teacher activities, online activities, and lesson plans that will provide strategies and reinforcement for teaching time skills in second grade. Since 70% of the students in my second grade classroom do not demonstrate mastery in their time skills, the activities and lessons in this unit offer students the opportunity to sharpen their skills while participating in activities that promote creativity, while also addressing the individual needs of students and promoting the use of technology in the classroom. The unit addresses the Tennessee Curriculum Standard that states that in order for students to develop an understanding of estimation, measruement, and computation, the mathematics curriculum should include problems which require students to apply approriate tools such as mental mathematics, technology, manipulatives, and pencil-and-paper.
