 Track Description
Track-A-Day
Students will co-operatively work through a Trackstar Lesson studying the chronological development of America’s flag and taking an online quiz. Students will also be required to read primary sources and draw accurate conclusions based on the data provided. This lesson will conclude with an activity that will require students to create a Tri-fold pamphlet that shows three historical renditions of the American flag with a statement explaining what each one symbolized. Students will also create and include in this pamphlet their own unique rendition of the American flag, and how it symbolizes patriotism. Included in the student’s pamphlet must be a statement of flag etiquette. The students will then write a persuasive essay expressing why our nation’s flag is still important today and ending the activity by demonstrating how to correctly fold the American flag. The project is easily adapted to 6th through 11th grades.
