 Track Description
This Track is about Christmas all around the world. Students will be able to learn differnt ways that Christmas is celebrated in different parts of the world, and what traditions different countries have. Students will be asked to create a pocket book in order to place all their work into, and then present their book to their parents during the holidays. This unit works well in fulfilling many of the ESL New York State Standards. All of the following standards are met in this unit plan created for an elementary level: Standard #1- Students will listen, speak, read, and write in English for information and understanding. (Performance Indicators 2, 3,& 4) Standard #2- Students will listen, speak, read, and write in English for literacy response, enjoyment, and expression. (Performance Indicators 5, & 7) Standard #3- Students will listen, speak, read, and write in English for critical analysis and evaluation. (Performance Indicator 6) Standard #4- Students will listen, speak, read, and write in English for classroom and social interaction. (Performance Indicators 1, 2,& 7)
