This unit concentrates on how to use the computer as a word processor for use in research and in communication. The improvement of writing skills is a key focus of this unit. Students will use, read, and view media/technology and analyze content and concepts accurately (a Tennessee framework standard in English/Language Arts in grades 3-5).Students will learn how to apply skills (taught in computer lab) to everyday tasks in the classroom. According to the teacher profile survey, my students do not always use what they learn to help them in other school subjects, nor do they connect what they learn in school to the skills people use in a job, work, or hobbies.
