This is a unit about finding The Titanic involving Literature, Language Arts, and Social Studies. The project will help students gain a better understanding of the Titanic and its people. The culminating activity of a Titanic book will incorporate writing and research. The students will learn new vocabulary using context clues and a variety of resources including glossaries, dictionaries, and thesauruses. Students will interpret information and ideas such as cause/effect, classification, inference, drawing conclusions, fact/opinion, comparison/contrast. Students will use research skills to collect information. Students will produce writing that demonstrates a clear understanding and interpretation of ideas and information.
