This unit reinforces dictionary skills in a variety of ways. Students will learn to use the dictionary more effectively and efficiently and will improve their vocabulary at the same time. This unit addresses the Tennessee Curriculum Frameworks in English/Language Arts for Grade Cluster 3-5: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. This unit will enable students to connect what they learn in school to other subjects in school and will help them to relate how what they learn in school can be used in a job. The use of the Internet will help my students to become more effective in research and study skills.
