This unit takes students through activities, both online and offline, that will help them to understand what fractions represent, what equivalent fractions are and how to make them. This track addresses the Math Standard for Grades 3-5 Number Sense and Number Theory that states the curriculum should include problems that require students to recognize, represent, and model real numbers and operations verbally, physically, symbolically, and graphically. Students will use the internet to practice skills online and will try more than one way to solve a problem, as listed in the teacher survey.
