In the beginning of the school year, all students are pretested on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of 1, 2, 3 and 4 digit numbers, with and without regrouping. Then, based on the pretest, students are placed in groups, and each group is given lessons that focus on skills, drills and concept development for the operations they need to master.
