 Track Description
Learning Gap: Using a teacher made test, 60% of my fourth grade resource students were only able to list one similarity or difference between two contrasting stories. Content Standard:Reading: Grades 3-5 The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. Learning Expectations for these standards include the following: Experience and develop interest in literature which includes multicultural, gender, and ethnic diversity.Improve comprehension by interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating written text.Use comprehension strategies to enhance understanding, to make predictions, and to respond to literature. Usuage: This track is good to use when teaching students to compare and contrast. It is also a fun way to reintroduce some of their favorite stories or fairy tales and further give them a better appreciation of literature.
