Track Description
Do your drama students sometimes lack confidence when speaking/acting before their peers? This unit helps build confidence in those students and provides creative means for exploring their imaginations.
The Curriculum Standard for Theatre Arts, grade cluster 9-12, goal is to develop the means of expression for the individual through the use of drama/theatre experience. In addition, the student will identify and respond to various sensory stimuli.
Learning expectations for this unit include: *The student will express suggested emotions in a game situation;
*The student will act out a scene involving "attitudes" suggested by the audience;
*The student will act a scene while focusing on vocal tone and physical characteristics;
*The student will focus on emotional changes while acting a scene; *The student will create an aluminum foil of a person who would be a true "foil" to him/her.
This unit addresses the Profiler pre-survey items #3 (My students think about their best skills and use them to complete a task) and #4 (My students are willing to try tasks that seem hard to do.)
