 Track Description
Is it difficult for your high school students to express themselves creatively? Sometimes free imagination is inhibited at the high school level, and it takes a little push for these students to relax. This track is based on the Curriculum Standard for Theatre Arts (Goal 1) for grade cluster 9-12: to devleop means of expression for the individual through the use of drama/theatre experiences. The learner will develop descriptive language through dramatic activities (level II/language). The learning expectations for this track include: *The student will develop creative writing skills through a fun activity involving newspapers; *The student will better understand a literary character and his traits; *The student will express characters' point of view and use language to show emotion and description; *The student will become more creative in his own writing and become critical and analytical of another's. *The student will use comics to foster creative writing and vocabulary skills. This track addresses the Profiler pre-survey items #17: My students can choose which parts of a topic are most important to explain to others.
