Comprehending what you read is a valuable part of your everyday life and through observation and teacher made materials I found that most of my students did not understand what they read. This unit was chosen because it lets the students have a perspective of real life situations in Reading. It helps them to better comprehend and relate to things in the real world. The Tennessee Curriculum Framework Sandard states that students will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. This unit helped the students to become critical readers and learn more about using the internet to see what was happening in the world around them.
