According to Tennessee Curriculum Framework: Students will address historical events and trends in order to interpret historical information and put it in the context of past, present, and future. The students will examine the issues involved in creating the Constitution and evolving political party system. Since my students do not understand how the constitution impacts their lives today, I chose this unit to help them understand how important the constitution was in the beginning of our country and why it is important today.
