Students will learn about weather through the use of the children's book, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Grade: 3 Subject: science Gap: My students are weak in the area of weather. Evidence: 35% of these students were unable to master the earth science subtest on the TCAP. Tennessee Standard 2.5b - Cycles of change can be extended in scales of time, space, and material. Profiler Survey Item: I chose this unit because I want my students to learn something as completely as they can. This is a great unit to help students to understand the compnents of weather while introducing them to good children's literature. I chose this unit because It is very comprehensive and will interest my students, thereby helping them to learn this material fully. Students will also be required to use the Internet on a daily basis.
