 Track Description
This unit was developed to address the learning gap of coin identification and coin values for my Extended Resource K-2 class. It implements a rap, poem, board game and a worksheet to teach children about numbers. This unit addresses the Tn Curriculum Framework:ESTIMATION, MEASUREMENT, AND COMPUTATION: In order to develop understanding of Estimation, Measurement, and Computation, the mathematics curriculum should include problems which require students to apply appropriate tools and units of measurement, to develop effective estimation and computation strategies for producing reasonable results, and to calculate using appropriate tools such as mental mathematics, technology, manipulatives, and pencil-and-paper. It also addresses Sharon School's Improvement plan as well as preparing students for their future in the world and job market.
