This lesson is called "The Dictionary Game". It is a form of a popular game called Balderdash. This lesson will help enable the students to gain a better understanding of new vocabulary words. This lesson correlates directly with the framework standard that "students will develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences. This lesson addresses teacher survey question #10, "My students spot the important facts, concepts and vocabulary when they are learning something new." The procedure of the lesson is that a word is given to the students that they are ignorant about. They must then decide what the correct definition is.
