 Track Description
This track is for my second grade classes, although it could be adapted for various grade levels. The students will be composing songs in groups working together to create a final product. The students will then explore other ways to create music in different forms such as rondo. Finally, the students will take their compositions and play them with traditional instruments and non-traditional instruments. TN Curriculum Standards for Music-second grade:Improvise and create rhythmic and melodic compositions. TN Gateway Standards:ENGLISH-student will express ideas clearly and effectively in a variety of oral contexts, apply active listening skills. Student will develop the creative skills to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences. ALGEBRA-student will describe, extend, analyze, and create a wide variety or patterns PROFILER SURVEY:students and teachers use information from the Internet to learn how to compose. SIP GOALS: school¿s SIP goal that students will demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively.
