 Track Description
This lesson is for third grade students. Students will be comparing and contrasting the different versions of The Three Little Pigs. Students will start out by comparing The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf with The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. They will be using Venn diagrams to show the similarities and differences. They will read other versions, both books and those on websites. Students will then compose their own version of The Three Little Pigs. Learning Expectation: That students experience and develop interest in literature which includes multicultural, gender, and ethnic diversity. They will use comprehension strategies to enhance understanding, to make predictions, and to respond to literature. Students will utilize sources of information including technological tools. They will develop skills in making inferences and recognizing unstated assumptions. School Improvement Plan is to increase the third grade students at/above the 50th percentile to 70% or higher or increase by three percentage points.
