This is an exciting unit for my class of gifted third graders. The students will use computers to generate "author cards" that are similar to baseball cards. They will use a scanner to add a picture of the author. The students will use, read and view media/technology and analyze content and concepts accurately. The unit encourages students to try tasks that seem hard to do and to think of different ways to tell others what they have learned. This lesson will help students demonstrate basic technological skills which will allow them to understand concepts essential to future development. They will also utilize problem solving and higher order thinking skills.
