 Track Description
The stated learning gap is that of my nine third grade special education students, seven of them do not have an understanding of identifying, predicting, sorting, counting, adding, organizing, graphing, analying, and displaying data. The third grade math cluster states that in order to develop an understanding of statistics and probability the mathematics must include problems which require students to collect, organize, represent, and interpret data; make inferences and predictions; present and evaluate inferences and predictions; present and evaluate arguments based on data analysis; and model situations to determine theoretical and experimental probabilities. I chose this track because it will help me to use the internet in my class to answer questions and practice skills online as described in the profiler teacher usage survey. This track will provide students various activities that will help them work cooperatively developing experiments with probability, use logical reasoning to form opinions, use number sense to find relationships, apply learning to real life experiences, and communicate math findings orally and in writing.
