 Track Description
Because I am a Special Education Teacher many of my students have below grade level vocabulary skills, as stated in the Learning Gap. According to the Curriculum Framework in Language Arts, students will acquire reading skills for word recognition, comprehension, and basic knowledge of the written text. This unit will help my students identy unfamiliar words as well as be able to use them correctly in sentences as well as practice thier dictionary and thsauruc skills. Hopefully this will help increase my student's vocabulary skills and bring them closer to grade level. Students will also practice using words that already exist in their vocabulary. While completing these lessons my students will need to think of different ways to tell others what they have learned and be able to communicate these effectively and indicated in the Teacher Survey. The student will also use the Internet to locate information.
