The unit MACBETH was chosen because it teaches students how to read MACBETH with understanding of key passages and emphasizes clear interpretation through the use of the classroom computer and group activities. The Content Standard for Reading, Grade 12, states that the student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. I chose this unit because it allowed me to use the Internet in my class to practice comprehension skills online. It provided additional support with a dictionary and other tools which help increase students' comprehension scores.
