 Track Description
Students in my fifth grade music class have difficulty recognizing musical instruments. TN State Frameworks Music GRADE 5 standard states: VI. Listening to, analyzing, and describing music. Musical Instrument Appreciation is designed to give students the basic knowledge of musical instruments. Through this activity students will develop a greater appreciation of music and the different instruments involved in its creation. The goal to fill the gap: Students will learn about many kinds of musical instruments and be aware of the importance of each instrument in the creation of music. Learning expectation: 1. My students connect what they learn in school to what they do outside of school. 2. aurally recognize and classify selected orchestral instruments. 3. develop skill in listening to works of composers such as Copland and Beethoven and describe them in terms of the elements of music. 4. aurally recognize and classify selected orchestral instruments. Students hear music, identify musical instruments, read about composers, and use the internet to identify and hear instruments.
