 Track Description
This unit addresses the needs of fourth grade students (Language Arts Reading and Writing Standard) who have difficulty understand written material conveying it clearly and effectively to others via the KWL chart in their reading journals as a prewriting skill for producing a multimedia presentation, thus also meeting standard 6:1 of the Technology framework as well as our school improvement plan of incorporating more technology in classroom studies because students will work with different interactive online site through the use of Track Star. (Gateway Content English Standard for reading 2.0) Students will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. This lesson plan will be used as a two-week unit because it will be applied to the each chapter of the book, ‘Family Under the Bridge.' I chose this unit because it will enable my fourth grade readers to use their reading journals to record the most important topics of the book so they will be able to explain them to others (as stated in the Profiler Objective # 15).
