This track is a track for third grade unit on the book Stellaluna. The stated Learning Gap is a deficiency in reading comprehension skills, locating, and organizing information about a topic. The unit Stellaluna was chosen because it requires the students to organize information using the Internet. The third grade Language Arts 3-5 cluster Reading content standard states that the student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. I chose this unit because it requires the students to locate, process and organize information about the topic of bats. This unit will enable the students to use what they know about the topic in other school subjects as stated in the teacher's pre-survey, item number 10.
