Track Description
This unit helps explain to the students that no matter what age fire prevention is necessary for everyone. The Tennessee Curriculum Standard states that students will understand appropriate care for injuries and sudden illness. To achieve this we should discuss safety skills in fire safety as well as discuss the basic steps for providing first aid to the sick or injured and evaluate proper first aid techniques for emergencies. This lesson teaches children about the dangers of fire and informs them about how to become active in preventing fires that may actually prove life-saving should they ever be involved in a serious fire. Through the use of this unit, students will be able to use the Internet to find activities to help increase their knowledge and be able to better relate what they learn at school to the outside world.
