 Track Description
The activities for this new tract for reluctant fifth grade readers uses the theme of character building to motivate students to discuss and think critically about a narrative text. These activities will address my learning gap by encouraging the students to become better readers. The curriculum standards will be addressed as students demonstrate competency in critical thinking skills and strategies of the writing and reading process. Some of the Profiler Survey items students will apply as they complete their tasks are those which require them to choose which parts of a topic are most important to explain to others and explain why, and ask questions that help themselves and others understand a topic better. (Numbers 17, 19 and 9)
