Using the Dewey decimal Classification system is essential for students to be proficient library users. Most students have difficulty understanding and using the system. This Internet site will provide my students computer experience and practice. My students demonstrated that 70% of them were unable to locate books using the Dewey Decimal System. The unit will address the following Content Standards of the Tennessee Curriculum Frameworks: the 5th grade Language Arts Grade 3-5 cluster Viewing and Representing Content Standard states the student will use, read, and view media/technology and analyze content and concepts accurately.
