 Track Description
This can be used for all grade levels. Students are shown a large color picture from the newspaper or elsewhere for about 30 seconds, then are asked to write down everything that they can remember about it. The Language Arts K-2 cluster reading content standard states that the student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. I chose this unit because it will help students improve their reading comprehension by allowing them to see the importance of paying attention to detail while reading. Pre-survey question No. 5 is addressed: ( My students find ways to use what they learn.
