 Track Description
My stated learning gap is using context clues to discover the meaning of new vocabulary words. The learning expectations for this unit will be for students to not only figure out the meaning of words using context clues, but also for them to write context clues to describe vocabulary words. This unit requires higher order thinking skills because students will have to be able to apply their knowledge of vocabulary words to context clues. It correlates with the content standard which states: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text.
