 Track Description
In the unit, "Do We" Really Know Dewey?, students will see and understand why books are shelved as they are in the library, and they will be able to locate a book they are trying to find. At the same time, the learning gap--seventh and eighth grade students do not understand the Dewey Decimal System and how to use it to find books, will be addressed. The standard for Viewing and Representing states that the student will use, read, and view media/technology and analyze content and concepts accurately. This unit will enable students to do so. Pre-survey question #4 addresses the problem, My students are willing to try tasks that seem hard to do.
