This unit was chosen because it contains activities to help my students comprehend and appreciate the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird". The TN. Curriculum Standard for grades six through eight states: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. By reading and studying the novel, the students will be able to address all the skills in the curriculum standard. They will be able to practice skills online while also trying tasks that seem difficult to them as outlined in the pre-survey.
