The stated learning gap is(recognizing poetry forms and appreciating poetry). The unit ("Valentine Cinquain Poems")was chosen because it (contains methods and activities which will acquaint students with a poetry form and by involving them in poetry writing, develop their appreciation and enjoyment of poetry). (The fourth grade Language Arts 3-5 cluster Reading states that the student will read and appreciate poetry and that the student will write poetry). I chose this unit because it allowed my students to use the Internet to search for and to share poetry with other teachers and students. Teacher Survey Item number nine, My students ask questions that help themselves and others understand a topic better. Item 22, My students use Internet in my class to research topics.
