 Track Description
This track was designed to develop a broader vocabulary for students, especially in regard to accepting others from different cultures. Diversity is important in helping our students relate to our ESL students and others in our school and community. The activites in the track will allow me to address vocabulary and aspects of character education. It also relates to the Language Arts 3-5, Reading Content Standard which states: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. Finally, the teacher pre-survey indicated that students do not always apply what they learn in school to what they do outside of school. This track will give them opportunities to recognize the diversity within our school and community.
