This lesson will provide students with activities that will help them become familiar with new vocabulary words and how tho use these words properly. The students will understand how to use the dictionary to find, not only word meanings, but word usage, as well. This lesson will help the stated learning gap which says, students in grade four have demonstrated difficulty with vocabulary meanings and usage in context. It also follows the Curriculum Framework which states, "Students in grades 3-5 will be able to extend reading vocabulary utilizing sight words, phonetic and structural analysis, and context." The students will also use the computer for integrated activities with vocabulary and usage which comes from the suggestions of the Teacher Profiler.
